My experience

The first word that comes to my mind when thinking about London is: frenetic. It is a city always in constant movement, with an energetic air everywhere one goes. Starting from the underground where people head in all directions, and no one ever seems to stop.

If you take the Central, the Circle or the Hammersmith line you will get to the amazing borough of the City of London and you will understand what I’m talking about when I say “frenetic”.

City of London

The City of London is the oldest borough of London and it dates back to when the Romans settled the area 2000 years ago… I think its impressive!

Is where the modern metropolis grew and today is the financial center of Great Britain that counts 340.000 professional workers.

This district has some of the most beautiful attractions such as the Tower Bridge, St Paul Cathedral, or the Museum of London … but today I want to talk in specific about the Sky Garden.

WHAT IS IT?

The Sky Garden is the London’s highest public garden with a 360-degree view of the city’s skyline; is located in the Fenchurch building, also known as the Walkie Talkie building.

It was designed in 2004 by the famous Uruguayan architect Rafael Viñoly.

When you enter the building lobby you will immediately notice the long queue. But don’t worry it tends to move really quickly..

The first thing I suggest you to do is to get out on the balcony and snap some photos.

There are three terraces in total. The top one was designed to resemble a “forest” filled with fig trees and ferns and it’s really handsome to watch.

Otherwise, the bottom level, is filled with numerous colorful plant species that leave a lovely smell of Lavender and Rosemary so, in my opinion, is very relaxing to walk there.

From the top you will be able to see all the attractions that I have mentioned before in all one building!

An interesting part of the Sky Garden are also the series of bars and dining places that are around the space.

They offers a seafood grill and a traditional British restaurant; and a Sky Pod Bar which is naturally ventilated to match the temperature outside and I think it’s an experience to try.

And the amazing part of it is that is a free opportunity!

People have to book their place into the official website and it has to be 3 weeks in advanced of your desired date and time. It books fast, especially in weekends and If you miss the appointed hour you won’t be allowed in later.

So hurry up and book your place here !!

When I have been there I made a lot of Instagram stories and I thought you might like see them !! Enjoy

Now I want to share with you my interview with a famous Italian radio …
